Stolen Recovery Process

It is an unpleasant experience to have your automobile stolen, and managing the repairs with the insurance company can feel daunting and overwhelming. We are here to support customers with the process, and to operate as a liaison with the insurance company, body shop, and locksmith. When your car has been recovered and you are ready to get back on the road!

Reach out to Lloyd’s Auto Clinic and provide the following:

  • Insurance company name
  • Deductible amount
  • Insurance estimate (if one has been completed) or we can arrange with the insurance adjuster to inspect the vehicle at the shop
  • Tow the car to 23250 Military Rd S. Kent, WA 98032

Insurance:

  • We will connect with the adjuster to begin communication about the necessary car repairs.
  • We will verify the deductible, the towing agency, adjuster’s information, and any other important information
  • We will communicate with customer and the insurance adjuster when the car arrives to the shop
  • We will take pictures of all the damages to the car, including body damages
  • Some insurance providers do not cover all our costs and will be the customer’s responsibility beyond the deductible, such as, but not limited to:
    • State Farm
    • Liberty Mutual
    • Geico

Repairs:

  • Kia and Hyundai’s are the cars most stolen at the present time, and parts can take 2-3 weeks to receive.
    • Waiting for parts is typically the longest stage of the process due to the high demand of these parts
  • Re-key the door and ignition (as needed)
    • We are happy to make spare key, yet it typically falls outside insurance coverage
  • We often need to vacuum broken window glass from the vehicle for safety of the technicians
    • A full detailing may be needed
  • Complete and document the mechanical repairs
  • For body damages, we refer to National Auto Collision
    • They are our neighbors and can streamline all the needed repairs to get you back on the road

Cost:

  • Deductibles and any additional costs not covered by the insurance company are due at the time of pick up
  • Often the insurance company will provide their payment separately to Lloyd’s Auto Clinic, unless otherwise stated
    • When the insurance company sends the supplemental check to the insured rather than the shop, the full payment will be due at time of pick up
